Week 4 Preview: Early Games make for Late Nights

The Good Guys will turn to the daylight for the next four games beginning tonight at 6:30. This marks the only time in Good Guys history that they have seen 4 games at 6:30 in a season, much less consecutive. The team had better bring their bats if they want to battle the sun and the heat to run over a schedule made for a champion.
This week the Good Guys will take on Golden Rule Auto Works. This appears to be a new team to the league and they have a record to support the theory starting the season 0-2. However, don’t let that fool you! The name “Golden Rule” has been around this sport for nearly 5 years, so there will be some beer league softball experience in the other dugout. If they are familiar with low E beer league softball at expressway, then they are familiar with the Good Guys. Those Good Guys will need to jump on top early to calm any rebellious feelings of upset for the flailing foes.
As any good team would do, let’s ignore the future for a moment and look back on last week. The Good Guys were anything but at their best, however they fought for the tough 16-13 win and earned the 3-0 record that they hold now. Team CPS was slugging the ball and putting up some crooked numbers seemingly every inning, but the Good Guys were able to mount their own offensive charge to keep pace and surpass them for the lead late in the game. Let’s take a look at the highlight from the game featuring the head and musical talents of Third Baseman Jake Greeson.

The post-game featured this week’s edition of “Deep in the Gap” as we have all become accustomed to enjoy. Week 4 will feature Anthony Scooter Gilbert as he was selected as the Good Guy Hero of the Day. Anthony was given his opportunity to captivate the audience and loyal followers of this blog. Here’s what he had to say:

It’s important that you get yourself to the park this week! No, there’s no Fan Appreciation night….but there will be a big time Good Guys victory followed by beers and subpar singing, so what’s not to love? Jump in on the comments section and let us know who you think will be the Hero of the Day in week 4!

For those who DO look ahead for those wonderful promotions and Fan Appreciation nights, check out NEXT week! July 24th the Good Guys will again be at the fields for a 6:30 game on Ryan “Say it to my Face” Fisher Gold Glove night! The first 84 fans in the gate will receive their very own Ryan Fisher Gold Glove Keychain. Ryan will be present at the bleachers for 45 mins before the game for an autograph session.

(Please keep in mind that Ryan has a court order to remain 300 feet from children unless supervised by a legal guardian. Autographs will be $5-8 each and absolutely no proceeds go to benefit a charity of any kind unless you consider Ryan himself a charity case. Good Guys receive no cash considerations for the event, but could possibly benefit if any items are lost or stolen during the event. See Ryan for details. All rights reserved. I didn’t come here to sit. The ball is in your glove dude. F*ck you I will f*cking kill you. Come here and give me a hug. I’ll punch a cop. Not on your best day. Dammit Nick P.)

Just when you thought that there was a soft spot on the schedule with no Good Guys Softball, you’re proved dead wrong again.  In fact, the last week of July will NOT be Good Guys’less.  It will be just the opposite.  You’ll have more Good Guys than Rob could shake a short stubby stick at.  3 Nights!  3 consecutive nights of ACTION PACKED adventure between the lines.  I’m talking about the mid summer tournament!  The Good Guys will be playing ball Tuesday, Wednesday AND THURSDAY NIGHT!  July 29-31.  Getcha some Good Guy action!

See you at the park!  6:30 tonight, jerks!
